Design / progettazione as dialogue between adults and children and between children and children

Infant-toddler Centres (0-3 years)

This webinar addresses the theme of thinking in terms of design, understood as a strategy that welcomes individual differences and the idea that knowledge is a subjective construction benefiting from the relation between children and adults.

Teachers and pedagogistas will discuss the theme through images and videos that reveal how “progettazione” / design is a script written together by adults and children.

This webinar addresses the theme of thinking in terms of design, understood as a strategy that welcomes individual differences and the idea that knowledge is a subjective construction benefiting from the relation between children and adults.

Teachers and pedagogistas will discuss the theme using images and videos, that reveal how “progettazione” / design is a script written together by adults and children.

Pedagogy, even for very young children, has always given adults the task of predicting and planning educational activity, conceiving the observation of children as a way of checking they are all achieving the same pre-defined goals, via the same knowledge journeys.

Instead, thinking in terms of design is founded on the idea that learning is a subjective construction only partially following the same journey for all. This webinar will argue for and develop the strategy of design as a dialogue between adults and children, and between children and children, a strategy that has the objective of creating favourable conditions for children’s construction of subjective learning processes but realised in a group dynamic.
