As we approach the World Day of Children’s Rights celebrated everywhere in the world on 20 November every year, Reggio Children is offering a second chance to view a webinar on the crucial theme of welcoming children with special rights into schools.

For an infant-toddler centre or preschool, welcoming children with different abilities and their families is a delicate but determining process. A knowledge of children that goes beyond diagnosis, which is often still provisional, advances through time and experiences, with pluralities of points of view offered by various professionals accompanying them. In order to gather clues about their ways of learning, of feeling, of experiencing emotions, there is a need for contexts rich in suggestion and that let children speak of their Self to others using a variety of means of expression.

To express their uniqueness, to have the pleasure of being open with others, and to access processes that are self-correcting, without encountering “judgement” and the mindset of “conforming”.
